Credits and billing
How Cue credits work: what a request costs, free trial credits, monthly plans, top-ups, cancelling and refunds.
Cue uses credits so you only pay for what you actually use. One credit is about one cent of AI usage.
What a request costs
Each request is measured by how much work the AI did: how much it read, how much it wrote, and how many frames it looked at. Roughly:
| Request | Credits (roughly) |
|---|---|
| A small change: “fade the title in over 12 frames” | about 5–10 |
| A build: a gradient background with an animated title and subtitle (several changes, a few frame checks) | about 20–40 |
| Following a tutorial link (depends on the video’s length) | about 60–120 |
Longer conversations cost a little more per request, because the AI rereads the conversation each time. Starting a new chat for a new task keeps things cheap.
The panel always shows your current balance, and what each request used.
Free trial credits
Every new account gets 300 credits, with no card needed. That’s about 10 builds, or a couple of tutorials. Trial credits have no cash value.
Plans
A plan is a monthly subscription that adds a set number of credits at the start of each billing period. It’s the best value if you use Cue regularly. See pricing for the current plans.
Unused plan credits don’t roll over to the next month.
Top-ups
A top-up is a one-off pack of credits. Buy one if you run low before your plan renews, or if you’d rather not subscribe. Top-ups work with or without a plan.
Running out mid-request
Before each step of a request, it checks you have enough credits for that step. If you don’t, it stops cleanly and tells you, with a button to top up. You’re only charged for the work that actually ran, and the changes made so far stay in your project, each one a normal step in Edit ▸ History.
Payments
Payments are handled by Polar, our merchant of record. Polar processes your card, charges the right sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipts and invoices. Your card details never reach us.
Change, cancel or get invoices
Go to your account and choose Manage billing. From there you can switch plans, update your card, download invoices, or cancel. You can also reach it from the panel’s account menu.
When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you keep any credits you still have until then.
Refunds
See the refund policy. If something went wrong, such as being charged twice or a request that failed and still used credits, email support@cue.example and we’ll sort it out.
